New role at Valpak highlights changing landscape for packaging compliance

The UK’s largest compliance scheme, Valpak, has kick-started 2020 with a new appointment that reinforces its commitment to provide a one-stop-shop for customers.

Director of New Business, Kieran Roche, joins the company from CBRE Group, where he was Commercial Director for property management.

Roche brings a track record in growing business in a customer friendly way that will build upon the strengths of the existing team.

Roche said: “Valpak is well-known for reliability and quality of service when it comes to compliance, but in recent years the team has developed a range of services that help customers address challenges across the whole packaging supply chain. We anticipate demand for these value-added services to escalate in light of the changes to producer responsibility legislation, and it is our ambition to support our customers in a manner that leaves them healthier.

Valpak is part of the Reconomy group, which promotes an ethos of customer-centricity and works collaboratively to find innovative solutions.

As well as managing packaging, WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) and battery compliance, Valpak maintains the most extensive database of packaging information in the UK. In recent years, the company has developed a suite of services designed to ease the path to more sustainable packaging design and straightforward compliance.

Roche concluded: “It’s already clear that the Valpak team are an incredibly passionate, knowledgeable group of people. With the Reconomy acquisition and our growing suite of services, we’re providing a more end-to-end service, and we’ll be able to share the benefits with our clients over the coming months.
