UK Plastics Pact
We are working with WRAP as official data partners of the UK Plastics Pact
The UK Plastics Pact is a collaborative initiative that will create a circular economy for plastics. By 2025 it will transform the UK plastic packaging sector by meeting four world-leading targets.
100% of plastic to be reusable, recyclable or compostable
70% of plastic packaging effectively recycled or composted
Eliminate problematic or unnecessary single-use packaging items through redesign, innovation or alternative (reuse) delivery models
30% average recycled content across all plastic packaging
We own and maintain the UK’s largest weights database, holding over 44 million SKUs with packaging metrics. This provides a unique view of the packaging landscape at a level of detail that is not available elsewhere. For years we have been using this database to undertake research into the flow of packaging materials to help government make informed decisions relating to recycling targets.
Now we are delighted to be working with WRAP as official data partners of the Plastic Pact.
We recognise that it’s not only formal signatories that want to do the right thing. If your business wants to make a similar environmental commitment but doesn’t know where to start or how to report and measure objectives effectively, our team of policy and data experts can help.

How Valpak can help
We understand the challenges facing packaging producers due to increasing environmental and circular economy measures.
One such challenge is the ever-increasing requirement to report data on the packaging they handle, not only to ensure compliance with the Packaging Waste Regulations, but a myriad of additional legal and voluntary commitments.
129 companies have signed up and an additional 50 companies support WRAP’s UK Plastic Pact, committing to a fundamental change in the way they design, produce use, re-use and dispose and reprocess plastics.
This will involve further reporting against the targets that have been set to monitor progress. To help business achieve this in an efficient way we have expanded our existing Insight Platform to summarise and display the data required to report against the Plastic Pact targets.
We will work with businesses from start to finish to help them achieve the commitments.
