The National Cup Recycling Scheme: Improving the recyclability rates of takeaway cups

Starting in 2025, mandatory cup take-back legislation will be implemented for businesses that sell fibre-based composite cups and have 10 or more full-time equivalent employees.

As part of this take-back scheme, these businesses will be required to provide a designated bin for the separate collection and recycling of cups, whilst also meeting data reporting obligations. Our Cup Take Back Scheme has been developed to help alleviate the associated responsibilities.
