RAM Data Service for suppliers
Unlock reliable red, amber, green (RAG) ratings with minimal effort
If you already use Valpak’s Supplier Data Hub (SDH) to provide packaging information for your customers, or even if you’re new to the platform, our Recyclability Assessment Methodology (RAM) Data Service makes it simple to access verified recyclability assessments for your packaging.
This service helps you unlock reliable RAG ratings with minimal effort, ensuring your data is accurate, complete and aligned with compliance requirements.
What we offer
Leverage deep expertise and our product and packaging database
Behind our scoring is the power of Valpak’s in-house know-how and the extensive packaging data in our bespoke product and packaging database (the UK's largest). This holds information on millions of SKUs, material types, weights and recyclability attributes: this means our assessments are rooted in a comprehensive, market-tested data foundation.
Why this matters (and why now)
With increasing pressure from regulatory frameworks like Extended Producer Responsibility (pEPR) and the growing importance of recyclability in both cost-modulation and sustainability strategies, having validated RAM scores is more important than ever. Our service helps ensure your packaging data is robust, compliant and future-ready.
Plus, even if you’re not currently using the Supplier Data Hub, our RAM Data service is designed to be flexible. We can onboard new clients and support them through data collection, supplier engagement and full RAG rating generation.

We can use our 60-million-SKU product and packaging database to bridge data gaps and produce proxy weights, or we can work with your upstream suppliers to secure any missing information.
From 2026, packaging EPR fees will be modulated according to red, amber, green (RAG) ratings on packaging, meaning accurate assessments are key for accurate costs next year.
Producers are required to submit red, amber, green (RAG) ratings for their packaging by the half-year 2 2026 packaging EPR compliance reporting deadline (1 April 2026), meaning time is running out to generate accurate ratings for your packaging.
