Responsible Sourcing – The growth of environmental reporting


This discussion will look at some of the legislation and voluntary reporting measures driving the importance of ethical and environmental reporting and highlight the importance of gathering supply chain data. You should attend this session if you are interested in data reporting in relation to progressing the sustainability agenda.

International Compliance – How to protect your brand internationally


This discussion will assist you in identifying obligations overseas under regulations such as waste packaging, batteries, electronics and other materials such as textiles or furniture. During the discussion we will highlight areas of risk when operating overseas, whilst providing tips and guidance on how to manage international environmental compliance obligations. You should attend this session if you are selling your products outside of the UK and are unsure of your obligations.

Adrian Hawkes

Adrian is Valpak's Director of Policy and is responsible for all aspects of Valpak’s interaction with UK and EU public authorities, including formal and informal consultation responses. He was instrumental in establishing the market based packaging compliance system in the UK and is a respected advisor to European, National and Local Government.

Hannah Woodrose

Hannah works in Valpak's Policy Department in the role of Policy Advisor. She advises Valpak on regulatory and policy changes and is also involved in producing Valpak’s responses to relevant consultation papers on behalf of our membership.

Duncan Simpson

Duncan is the Director of Sales and Marketing and is responsible for all of the sales and marketing activity at Valpak. He also manages a portfolio of key Valpak accounts. Duncan has 20 years’ experience working in the waste management sector and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM) and a Scottish Centre Councillor for CIWM.

Hugh McCoach

Hugh is a Principal Consultant at Valpak Consulting. He has project managed several high profile consultancy projects for clients including Defra, WRAP, RENEW, One NorthEast and the East of England Regional Assembly.
