How will I make a difference?

You will assist in driving this goal by supporting the delivery of accurate and timely data declarations as specified by environmental legislation and voluntary commitments. You will help support our customers to comply with environmental legislation and give insights to the packaging they handle, allowing them to make meaningful changes with confidence.
What will I be doing?
Valpak has developed a vast database known as Environmental Product Information Centre (EPIC) that holds one of the UK’s largest product and packaging data sets. The EPIC database and software is developed by Valpak’s Systems team and is continually improving to support data storage and service delivery.
The aim of this role is to help manage system testing alongside systems and represent the Operations team requirements. To be responsible for ensuring that the software meets the standards expected by the business, and by Valpak’s customers. These standards will include data accuracy, system performance, user experience. To help oversee development releases, raising objections or concerns if a planned release does not align with the forementioned business standards.
About you
-
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Great attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience using Microsoft packages, including Excel
- Understanding of different categories of testing (e.g. functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, performance testing)
- Knowledge of SQL is required
- Knowledge of Microsoft TFS, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, C#, Selenium is desirable but not required
