Valpak CRC Pre-Compliance Service
The Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency
Scheme ('Carbon Reduction Commitment' or 'CRC') is the first piece of compulsory
UK legislation that will address energy use amongst medium to large non-energy intensive
businesses.
The CRC affects all businesses with half hourly metered
electricity supply, regardless of the quantity used. All organisations with an annual
electricity consumption of over 6,000 megawatt hours in 2008 (approx. £500k) will
be required to register as 'full participants' in the Carbon Reduction Commitment
from 2010.
Valpak have launched a CRC Pre-compliance Service
that is open to all Valpak members to help them prepare for this new legislation.
