valpak launches 2009 awards
March 2009
Valpak, the UK's leading provider of producer responsibility
and recycling solutions, will be hosting its 8th annual awards ceremony on 24th
September. The Valpak Awards 2009 have been designed to acknowledge excellence and
innovation within the field of recycling and waste management, and new award categories
have been introduced this year to recognise forward thinking in the area of carbon
reduction, education and resource management.
Entry is open to a number of organisations and individuals from:
retailers, reprocessors and Local Authorities to young innovators under the age
of 18.
This year's ceremony will be held at Shakespeare's Globe, London.
The evening will commence with a champagne reception, followed by a three course
dinner.
Before the Awards ceremony takes place, guests will be entertained
by our after dinner speaker, the scientist, television and radio presenter Professor
Heinz Woolf, who is best known for his television and radio work, including the
TV series 'The Great Egg Race'.
Steve Gough, Valpak CEO, commented: "In these tough times
we feel that it's especially important to recognise and reward efforts in respect
to the environment. In addition, we hope that organisations and individuals can
showcase their abilities through the winning of a Valpak award."
He added: "I very much look forward to receiving this year's
entries and commending people for their forward thinking initiatives."
Confirmed sponsors to date are British Polythene Industries,
Coca-Cola Enterprises, recycle-more.co.uk, Hammonds and The Manufacturer.
