Valpak Recycling (North West) Limited sponsors local football team

Longridge Town under 15's football team has a new sponsor. Valpak Recycling (North West) Limited, a recycling facility owned by Valpak Limited, has sponsored the team for the 2007 - 2008 season.

Following the Valpak Viper's own win at the Waste World Cup, the company were inspired to sponsor the local team in Preston and help them pursue their own football glory. As well as several adult teams, the club have over 150 junior players aged from 9 to 15. Last season saw wins for the Under 8s and Under 10s and a league title for the Under 12 side. Valpak's support has provided new football kit and training jackets for the junior players.

Valpak's Preston-based facility is one of the UK's leading plastic sorting and grading sites, drawing material from across the whole of the UK. Since Valpak, the UK's largest compliance scheme, took over the site in Preston it has made numerous improvements to the running and production at the site and has invested in new equipment.

Valpak Chief executive Steve Gough commented, 'Valpak Recycling's improvements at the site are key to our involvement with the community at Preston. We are very pleased to sponsor the Longridge Town football team, who provide such a valuable opportunity for local juniors to succeed in the sport."
