Sponsors confirmed for Valpak Awards 2007

UK producer responsibility scheme, Valpak, has launched its 2007 Awards. The awards are held to recognise excellence and innovation in packaging recycling, waste minimisation and awareness over the past year.

The Valpak Awards 2007 are open to all Valpak members, reprocessors and local authorities who are invited to enter into five categories: Best investment of PRN funds; Best Partnership; the recycle-more award for Most Innovative Local Authority; Best Educational project and for this year to recognise 10 years of the regulations, and Valpak a Lifetime Achievement award.

Valpak Chief Executive Steve Gough said; "The awards aim to recognise people's achievements in the vast area of recycling. Following the success of last years awards, I look forward to seeing more innovative projects entered into the awards again this year."p>

The event will be held at The Royal Botanic, Kew, London, a venue that holds a lot of common interests with Valpak on environmental issues, making it a perfect choice for the event.

The evening will include a champagne reception in the Princess of Wales Conservatory; a three course dinner followed by the guest speaker Sir Ranulph Fiennes, holder of over 10 expeditionary World Records and awarded the OBE for human endeavour and charitable services, and the presentation of the Awards.

Confirmed sponsors to date for the Valpak Awards 2007 are British Polythene Industries and Corus UK Limited.

Details on how to enter the awards, how to book a table at the event and sponsorship can be found on the Valpak website www.valpak.co.uk.
