Modern Slavery Act Reporting: Strategies for your second statement

To help our members to understand and effectively respond to the Modern Slavery Act we are hosting a FREE briefing and discussion session alongside our partner, Sancroft International - experts in responsible sourcing.

The Modern Slavery Act, which came into force in 2015, affects any organisation operating within the UK that has a total turnover of £36 million or more and requires those businesses to produce a slavery and human trafficking statement for each financial year.

This session will discuss the following topics:

  • what impact has the Modern Slavery Act had on business since its inception?
  • What are the effective ways of gathering supply chain information to provide a robust Modern Slavery statement?
  • What are strategies for companies to credible demonstrate their progress from their first to their second statement?
  • What does the current best (and worst) practice look like?
This briefing session includes a live demonstration of the Valpak data management portal service, developed together with Sancroft to help companies gather and assess supplier data.
