Valpak Limited and Stone Computers are working in partnership to offer a free IT recycling service across mainland UK. The service will allow local authorities to offer local businesses and educational facilities a safe and environmentally sound disposal route for old, outdated and unwanted IT equipment.
Would you like to offer local organisations a free, fully compliant, data secure IT recycling service?
With local authority approval, reconditioned IT equipment can be made available
for sale within the local community and agreements can be put in place to ensure
that the local authority or other local organisations using the service will receive
a percentage of any seen value. Any equipment that can’t be repaired will be recycled.
All collected e-waste that is reused or recycled will generate waste electrical
and electronic equipment (WEEE) recycling and reuse evidence. This will contribute
towards the UK’s WEEE targets and, if recycling requests are captured via a local
authority’s website portal, the arising data could be used in Waste Data Flow reporting
which will help to increase local authority performance figures.
By signing up to this service, local authorities and local communities will benefit
