Yes we can. We trade with a large number of end markets in the UK, Europe and the Far East to ensure continuity of service. And we ensure that the material that we collect goes into a closed loop recycling system amongst a number of alternative applications. For example:
- glass is often used to make new bottles or used as a water filtration medium
- plastic is often used to make new clothes, plastic bottles and plastic bags
- aluminium is often used to make new cans, planes etc
- steel is often used to make new cans and steel girders
- wood is often used to produce energy from waste and to make animal bedding
- some of the plastic from WEEE can be used to make side panels for new white goods and the metals can be used to create any type of new product dependant on the metal type. New items include components for electrical and electronic equipment and construction materials. Some of the rare metals, used in mobile phones, have a high value
