You have a packaging obligation if the following points apply to you:

You will get an idea as to whether or not your company is affected by the UK Packaging Waste Regulations if you can say yes to all of the following statements:

  • your organisation has an operation or operations in Northern Ireland
  • your annual turnover exceeds £2 million
  • your organisation owns the packaging or packaging materials handled in Northern Ireland
  • your organisation performs a relevant activity on any of the packaging or packaging materials
  • your organisation handle more than 50 tonnes of packaging and/or packaging materials in Northern Ireland
