Are you the brand owner of packaging that displays the Green Dot® which is then sold in the UK? If so, you must pay a UK licence fee. However, it is not obligatory to display the Green Dot® on packaging that remains in the UK.
When the licence is formally granted it will cover you for all product lines irrespective of quantity, volume and number of product ranges.
If you are exporting packaging to other European countries, you may be required to display the Green Dot® on your packaging. This will depend on how each country has chosen to implement the EC Directive on Packaging and Packaging Waste.
Please note that if you are a company registered in the UK and you are a member of the Valpak Packaging Compliance Scheme, you are entitled to use the Green Dot® symbol on your packaging, in the UK, FREE of charge. However, please inform Valpak that you are using the Green Dot® symbol, and let us know what packaging you are displaying this symbol on.
