By combining our consultants’ skills in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and carbon footprinting with our experience in the fields of recycling and waste, we are able to provide a unique service that tackles waste and carbon management simultaneously. This ensures optimal environmental and economic benefits.
Suitable for both private and public organisations, the Carbon & Waste Optimisation service provides performance details of current waste management activities, in terms of the efficiency and cost effectiveness of their processes, and the carbon impact of waste materials and management. It also identifies any scope for symbiotic improvement and exploitation of activities, in order to achieve both additional carbon (or wider environmental) and economic benefits:
Step 1: Carbon & Waste Audit
An audit and data collection exercise is carried out. The data gathered is analysed and the appropriate specialist software employed (WRATE) to establish the carbon and/or wider environmental impact of the activities. Using the knowledge and experience of our consultants, the waste management processes are also assessed for efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Step 2: Carbon & Waste Optimisation Strategy
Results and findings of the audit are reported and/or presented as a Carbon Waste Optimisation Strategy, incorporating:
- current & proposed waste management activities map
- current & proposed waste management carbon map
- written review of waste management activities
- written review of carbon impact
- optimal economic and environmental solution
- cost & carbon savings achievable
