Valpak Limited was founded in 1997 by a small but influential group of key members, otherwise known as founder members, such as J Sainsbury plc, Coca Cola Enterprises, Tesco Stores Limited, Nestle, Unilever and BP International Limited. The company was designed and developed by industry for industry to solve the immediate problem of how to deal with their obligations under producer responsibility legislation for packaging.
